Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
Aim:
Need to check the geometrical errors and unwanted surfaces are need to be removed and then wrap model with arget length as 2 mm, merging all parts as a assemble.
Procedure:
Open Engine model in ANSA
Engine block:

Check for unwanted geometry parts, hide top surfaces with the not option, and delete inside surfaces.

Transmission box
Open Transmission box in ANSA

By unselecting the shadow we can check the all cons issue in the geometry.

All the single and double were cleared in the image as shown below.

Gearbox
Open gear box in ANSA

By unselecting the shadow we can check the all cons issue in the geometry.

All the single and double were cleared in the image as shown below.

Now we need to merge all the three different components into a single assemeble by using merge option.

The assemble for the automotive assemble can be seen below.

Use the compress option to remove the unassigned PIDs in the model.

Before outputting the model it is recommended that you clear the database from any empty or unused grids, PIDs, etc, using the function Compress.

Now we need to select the wrap option in the element tab for the wraper

Click on the contstant wrap which is shown below has the empty fields

Now we need to name the wraper name as shown below and name it as the "Wrap-1" and in the mesh tab we give the required base size as per the machine capacity.

The mesh size was consider as 2mm as base size.we can see total 79 PID,s in the content as per the Wrap-1.Click on the octree definition and send all PID,s to the required target size tab.

Click on the Run option.

After the surface wrap is completed we see image as shown below.

Conclusion:
The automotive assembly was surface wrapped at a target length of 2mm.
