ANSA_Week 5_REAR VIEW_MIRROR

  • AIM:
    • Performing 3d volume mesh of the given model(rear view mirror) and should clear the above-mentioned quality criteria and the features in the model.
  • QUALITY CERTRIA FOR 2D AND 3D MESHING
  • INTRODUCTION OF VOLUME MESH
    • In ANSA, there are two modes for the generation of solid elements. The unstructured mesh creation algorithms like tetras and hexainterior mesh and the structured mesh algorithms like Map, Extrude, Layers, HexBlock etc... The first requires the definition of a closed Volume entity in advance in which the solid elements will be generated, whereas in the latter the Volume is defined automatically when the elements are created. The Volumes may be bounded by Macro Areas and/or FE-model shell elements.
    • All the functionality available for the handling and creation of solid elements is located under the
MESH > VOLUME and under the separate Volume Mesh module
  • PROCEDURE TO START VOLUME MESH
    • In order to perform the volume mesh we don't need the mid surface of the component
    • check the geometry and clean the geomentry
    • Once completing the topo area the move to shell mesh and mesh the tria or ortho tria i.e the curved area to mesh the ortho tria and the flaten surface area mesh the tria elements
    • In 2d shell mesh we mainly constract the min.length,max.length,aspect ratio and warping only enough
    • Then start the 3D volume mesh
  • 2D MEASHING MODEL
    • After importing the model into ansa we segregate model in to 4 parts namely given below
    • And each parts check the gometry goto>check>geometry
    • After once CHECK GEOMETRY completed next we move the shell tria mesh
    • After completing the shell mesh the total tria of the component are 120172 Shell traia elemnts and the failure percentage is 0
  • PROCEDURE FOR STARTING THE 3D VOLUME MESH
    • After once completing the 2d shell mesh we want define the volume for the model
    • For the definition of simple closed Volumes, the Volumes> Define [Manual] function of the MESH menu is used . Manual definition requires the user to select one by one or with box selection all the Macro Areas or FE-Model shell elements that form the closed volume. Selected Macro Areas may be meshed or not. As selections are made the entities are highlighted. You can de-select Macro Areas or FE model elements using the right mouse button. From the function’s Options.
    • First define the volume goto>v.mesh>define >manual>select the part
    • Once volume is define means in the list menu you can seen the defined volume
    • Once volume defined goto>unstructred mesh>select the rapid tetra mesh> select the closed volume and mesh it
    • In the same way we meash the all other component also.after meshing we importently watch the tetcollaspe , dips and rais eedge
    • After completing the 3d meshing the the total tertra are 465306 elemnts and the failure tet collaspe is 0%
    • In above image shown the 3d solid prperty
  • REMOVING THE DIPS IN THE MODEL
    • In above image the marked area are affected with the dips in 3d volume mesh we should remove the dips and kins
    • In order to remove the dips and kins goto>shell mesh>grids>align>select point and create 3d mesh normal plane>ok
  • RESULT AND CONCULSION
    • In this assignment we learn the how mesh the 3d volume and clear the dips and kins error
  • Learning out comes
    • Through this assignment i learnt how to convert the shell mesh to 3d volume mesh
    • In this assignment i learnt how to define volume and how to define propety
    • in this assignment i learnt how to remove the tet collaspe and how achive the 100%QI
