Explain the various applications of Power converters in an Electric vehicle. For Example what type of converter will you use for Horn which requires DC and less than 10V. Likewise come up with different applications

Ans:-

DC-DC converters:-

converts an unregulated DC input to a regulated DC output.

This type of converter is also known as chopper.

.Non-Isolated converters:-Buck Boost-Buck boost

(Buck-used for step down opeartion, Boost is used for step up operation)

.Isolated converters:-Fly Back, Forward, Half-Bridge, Full bridge

(input side & output side of the converter is electrically isolated)

Resonant Converters:-Different family of Dc to DC converter used for High power conversion.

Applications:-

Car air conditioning system

Music sytem

Head Lights

Dimmer

Volatge translator

DC to AC Converter:-

commonly called as inverters

can control both magnitude & frequency of output AC volatge

widely seen in control of AC motors

1 Phase vs 3-phase

AC-DC converters:-

commonly called as rectifiers

widely seen in battery charging

rectifiers with power factor correction are popular in industry

we can use Buck Converter for Horn which requires DC and less than 10V
