Week - 4 - 2D meshing for Plastic components

AIM:

For the given Plastic Bottle Cap model, check for the geometrical errors and take the mid surface by suitable mid surfacing techniques. PID and Thickness assignment has to be done for all the mid surfaces. Mesh the same with given element Quality criteria.

PROCEDURE:

1. In the given plastic bottle cap model, we need to create a mid surface for the quality analysis.

2. generally we need to start checking the geomentric error are occured in the given model and correct it, if any error occurs.

3. Then we need to start create the mid surface for the given component. In general, we can done it through auto mode but for the complicated surface we can done through the manual mode for every single component.

4. Now we can segregate the model into three parts as bottom, middle and top. then we can do the mid surface one by one using offset tool and surface creating through faces new.

5. In some of the complicated area, we can create the mid surface by projecting the cons and hot points. with the help of this we can create a new surface without the error.

6. The circular region can be done through the curves tool for the creating the circular surface for the enlarge area.

7. Then for the teeth and other areas can be done through the middle and cons project tool for creating the mid surface. For creating it in the more numbers we can use the transform- copy tool for the rotational surface creation.

8. once the mis surface got created we can move to the messing part with the given quality criterial and analyse the result of the model.

RESULT:

The Mid surface for the given Bottle Cap Model is done and the meshing process is shown in the submitted practice model.
