Week 4-1D Element Creation Challenge
objective
To mesh the model and create the 1D elements needed .
procedure
1) Import the model using file-import-CAD model option.
2)After importing the model convert the model into mid-surface model.
3)Then using autocleanup option in geomentry create washer around the holes in the model.
4)after finishing cleanup of the model using automesh option , mesh the brackets and increase the value in the holes to get the better profile of the holes and make sure that the washer value and hole value are same which leads to better mesh around the holes.
5)Then using 1D element option create elements as per our need at the marked (a) create RBE2 link with LAST 3 DOF unboxed to restrict only the translational DOF.
6)Then marked (b) create RBE3 element link with all DOF boxed for all restriction.
7)marked (c) create RBE3 element link with only first 2 box marked for restriction at x and y only.
8)create RBE2 element with all box marked and at (d) and (e) create mass of 10 at RBE2 element point.
9)Then using spring create spring element at between 2 brackets at 2 ends of the nodes.
10)create new link elements at a , b ,c using rod , bar options in the 1D element creation .
11)To associate the cross section go to hyperbeam option and create cross section using strandard sections option and assign the given dimension as per our need.
12)after creation we need to assign the property of each element , create property by right click on the left mapping section and create option choose property and assign property for the cross sections and the brackets.
13)at goto rod element create and choose update option and change the property to box section property and as samne for other 2 elements.
