Week 4-1D Element Creation Challenge

Objective

To Create 1D elements on the given component with given cross-section and DOF .

Procedure

1) Import the model.

2) Extraction of mid surface.

3) Apply material and properties to the mid surface.

4) Create washer split around the holes.

5) Creation of 2D mesh on the mid surface.

6) Creation of RBE2/RBE3 elementes near holes.

7) Creation of rod element and cross section of it.

8) Creation of Beam element and cross section of it.

9) Creation of Bar element and cross section of it.

10) Applying the mass of magnitude 10 with the RBE2 link shown at white node.

11) Joining the two components with Spring elements.

12) Solid representation of 1D elementes.

Conclusion

• Created mid surface of the component.
• Assigned material and property to the component.
• Created 1d element.
• Cross section given to the 1 D element.
• Created RBE2/ RBE3 elementes.
