Week 3 - 2D meshing for sheet metal

AIM:

To mesh the model by extracting the mid surface and mesh the mid surface as per given quality criteria.

PROCEDURE:

  1. Import the model in the ANSA environment.
  2. PID setup to be done for different features or as required.
  3. Check if cons are stitched or not using RELEASE function in CONS Module. If non-stitched faces are found, then they should be joined using TOPO.
  4. After that Geometry Checks is executed.
  5. Error found like needle face, etc.
  6. All error should be eliminated and Geometry checks should be rerun till no errors is obtained.
  7. After all errors are eliminated, mid surface is to be extracted.
  8. Before mid-surface extraction, the orientation to be performed and measure the thickness of the model.
  9. After preparing all surface orientation to be same for same side, mid surface to be extracted manually by OFFSET or SKIN to obtain the mid surface at exactly mid of the model.
  10. Move onto MESH DECK.
  11. Target length is updated for given perimeter for mid surface extracted as provided.
  12. Quality Criteria should be mentioned as provided.
  13. Mesh to be generated in sector wise in extracted mid surface.
  14. After Mesh generation, all Quality Criteria should be checked and eliminated accordingly.
  15. After it is found ok for all Quality criteria, model is meshed and okay for future process.
