Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
Aim:- For the pressure valve check the geometrical errors and mesh this with three different mesh lengths and submit three different models for the same.
Solution:- In geometrical cleanup all the single cons present in the model is converted into double cons because we do not want any open surfaces in any model we want closed surfaces to carry forward our analysis in CFD analysis. All the single cons should be fixed. All the errors should be checked by selecting them from the geometrical check.
by selecting single cons error from checks then a preview will show on the screen and all those have to be done. After checking the geometry and solving all the errors only then we can move for meshing. Hot points are the points. A line should have two hot points and if a line has more than two hot points then we should delete them because they are of no use.
After clearing all the geometrical errors we should give names to the surfaces. By giving names to the surfaces it is easier to identify the models and easy to mesh.
Meshing:- while we start meshing first of all we should know at what length we should mesh the given model. After this, we should give the desired mesh to the model by selecting the length from the toolbar and give parameter length by selecting the whole model and similarly for macros. after selecting the mesh length then by selecting the mesh parameters we should select the target length and type of meshing ( in this case tria) after this we should select quality parameters and give the maximum and minimum length to the model. We should give length to the model at four stages two in mesh length (one for parameters and one for macros) and one in mesh parameters and one in quality parameters. After this, we should mesh the model by selecting spot mesh from the toolbar and by selecting surfaces one by one and mesh them with the targeted mesh length.
Conclusion:- After meshing with three different mesh lengths the model with a mesh length of 1mm gives the best results among all three because in this the cells after meshing look finer among all three and their arrangments are best among all three.
