2.1 State the "Input" steps involved in Rcc design.

Answer:-

Geometry: The node spacing and placement are specified.

Properties: List the section's sectional properties.
Materials: List the material's characteristics.
Support: There is final support provided.
Loading: The loading combination and pattern must be provided.
Analysis: The model must be analysed, and all input specifications must be provided.
Design: Lastly, designs need to be completed.

2.Explain the diffrence between fixed and enforced support conditions in STAAD Pro.

Answer:-

Fixed Support degrees of freedom are to be seen as completely constrained; hence, their value is not computed and they are not taken into account for the stiffness matrix.
That being said, springs with zero stiffness are assigned to enforced degrees of freedom that are free to move. Therefore, the displacements at each of the six degrees of freedom at these supports are computed.

3.

1. Explain the steps involved in the analysis of a model using Staad pro sequentially

Answer:-

a. Go to the Analysis Tab.

b. Select define commands.

c. A new window will open.

d. Click on performed analysis.

e. Click on add and close.

f. Click on run analysis.

g. Save the file.

h. Again run.

i. A new window will popup.

j. Check any errors.

k. Resolve if any errors using commands and put plane as space.

l. Now again click on run analysis.

2. Explain the two ways in which a structural framework/model can be created in STAAD Pro software.

Answer:- The two ways to model the structural framework

1. Creating model by node bu node

2. Creating model by bay framework.

3. Elaborate on the different support condition in STAAD Pro.

Answer:-

1. Fixed: Every rotational and transitional displacement is constrained.

2. Pinned: - Rotational moments are unrestrained, while translational displacements are not restrained.

3. Fixed But: Like pinned support, fixed support gives us the flexibility to view the displacement in either translation or rotation.

4. Enforced: The programme permits the springs to adjust on their own and calculates displacement when enforced supports are assigned to the structure, but it does not have a feature that gives the spring constant.

5. Enforced However: The spring is assigned a zero or high degree of stiffness by the programme.

6. Spring Multilinear.

7. FOundation.

8. Slouched.

9. Springs that Only Tension/Compression.

4. How will you extract the stress distribution for a staircase slab?

Answer:-

a. Once analysis is complete,

b. select the load combination in Postprocessing.

c. Press the "Plate Results" button.

d. Choose the contour of Plate Stress and the load combination.

e. Verify the maximum amount of stress.

f. Verify the Major Principle Stress, the Local MX, etc.

5. Explain the different ways to view SFD & BMD in STTAD Pro.

Answer:-

a. After analysis.

b. Go to Post Processing.

c. Check SFD and BMD by clicking on SFD and BMD tool.

Practical

1. Analyze the following structural elements and validate the results

A. Simply supported beam

a. A simply supported beam with two point loads symmetrically placed

b. Span L= 20m

c. Load P= 50kN each

d. Both P located at 5m from each support

Aim: To analyze a simply supported beam and validate the result as per the given condition in question.

Procedure:

a. Create a new file as a metric unit in Sttad pro software is shown below.

b. go to geometry and create two nodes at a distance of 20m.

c. and create a beam by adding those two nodes.

d. now, go to properties and define the beam size as shown below.

e. assign the beam as assigned to the view.

f. go to material and define as concrete and assign it.

g. go to support>create simply support (only restrain at Fy)

h. now, let's add a load condition in our beam.

i. first to create a dead load and live load condition.

j. the condition produces a -1 self-load in the Y direction in dead load.

k. we must create two focused forces of -50kN at 5 and 15 metres in the global Y direction in order to meet the live load criteria.

l. Now assign all the loads in our beam.

m. Now let's analyze the beam for that go to assign tab

n. click on the define command and add perform analysis.

o. now run the analysis.

p. Result:

a. Displacement

b. SFD

c. BMD

d. reaction

e.

B. Fixed beam

a. span L=16m

b. uniformly distributed load w=9kN/m

Aim: To analyze a fixed-beam and validate the result as per the given condition in question.

Procedure:-

a. create a new file as a metric unit in Staad Pro software is shown below.

b. go to geometry and create two nodes at a distance of 16m.

c. and create a beam by adding those nodes.

d. now, go to properties and define the beam size as shown below.

e. assign the beam assigned to the view.

f. go to material and define material as concrte and assign it.

g. go to > create fixed support.

h. now, let's add a load condition in our beam.

i. first to create adead load and live load condition.

j. in dead load the condition creates a self-load of -1 in the Y direction.

k. in live load the condition we have to create a uniformly distributed load of 9kN/m as shown below:

l. now assign all the loads in our beam.

m. now let's analyze the beam for that go to the assign tab.

n. click on the define command and add perform analysis.

o. now run the analysis.

Result:-

a. Displavement

b. SFD

c. BMD

d. Reactions

e. Graph
