Week 12:Project-1-Meshing of Door Inner Panel Challenge
Aim
To perform midsurface operation and mesh the side door
Objective
To perform offset of the complex areas like ribs, circular areas
Maintain mesh flow
capture feature line and geometry
Maintain Quality criteria
Quality Criteria set for meshing

Mid surface extracted for Side door

some of the surfaces were closed using spline and shortcuts like
F12 - Automesh
F10- Check elements panel
F3- Node Equivalence
F7- Align nodes/Node Operation
F6 - Combine or Split elements
Shift+F12 - Smooth
F4 - Distance between two nodes or points and alter the length by changing value
F2 - Delete
Shift +F7 - Project line or point were used.
Surface edit, line edit panel was used panel was used
In Tool organize tool was used.

In F11 shortcut Toggle edge, surf split replace point project point tools were used

Ribs were projected to the surface using project to surface tool
After Geometry Cleanup and Clearing all surfaces capturing geometry Midsurface

Side door body mesh

Ribs Separarated to apply Property

Ribs can offsetted
and in some areas the ribs can created by creating a line and by selecting nodes by path and use Shift +F7 shortcut to project surface from parent geometry
Edges were found to be inline

To Apply Properties Go to -> Preferences -> User Profiles Select radioss
give thickness
and assign the property to ribs and other componenets

Use Visualization tool to check 2D Element Detailed Representation

Conclusion
- Proper Geometry needs to be captured during midsurface
- Capture feature line during extracting midsurface or offsetting to be checked
- Property Geometry cleanup for better mesh flow
- Avoid trias in edges and arround critical areas
- Analysis results are based on mesh, mesh flow to be maintained throughout the component
- Check mesh with feature line and midsurface geometry
- Maintain Quality criteria
- Check quality criteria after completion of each split and rectify to save time.
