Week 10 Bullet penetrating a Bucket Challenge
Explicit dynamics simulation of bullet penetrating through bucket is given as follows:
The above simulation is sub divided in three different material properties of bucket viz:
i) Al-1100
ii)Gold
iii)Platinum
CASE1: Al-1100
GEOMETRY:
Fig.Geometry of Bullet penetration in bucket
MESH:
Fig.Mesh Generation
Fig. Element Quality
Fig.Skewness
From the above mesh condition the Elemet qualtiy appears to be 0.62 with edge sizing of 4mm at the point where bullet is going to penetrate the bucket and number of elements corresponding to 8962
BOUNDARY CONDITIONS:

CASE ii: GOLD
Fig. Total Deformation Case ii
Fig. Von Mises Stress Case ii
CASE iii: PLATINUM
Fig. Total Deformation for Case iii
Fig. Von Mises Stress For Case iii
| Sr.No | CASE | MATERIAL | Total Deformation(mm) | Von Mises Stress(MPa) |
| 1 | CASE i | Al-1100 | 540.87 | 122.73 |
| 2 | CASE ii | GOLD | 1791.1 | 101.87 |
| 3 | CASE iii | PLATINUM | 1218.6 | 93.048 |
From the above tabulated data it is clear that gold has higher deformation of magnitude 1791.1mm and max stress generated 122.73MPa respectively. While the lowest deformation of Al-1100 and lowest stress of 93.048 MPa
