Maximum Stress - 0.25764 Mpa.
Case 2:
Total Deformation - 1.0437x10^-4mm
Maximum Stress - 0.19047 Mpa.
From analysis point of view case 2 is selected because Stress distribution is small in case 2.
From manufacturing point of view case 1 is selected because only one punching operation is required.
but depending on mode of application this will decide whether case 1 or case 2.

Hence from my point of view we can go with case 2 because the deformation and stress distribution is comparatively small than case 1
