Week 1 - Free Falling
- Does the mass and inertial properties of the body depend on the rate of fall? Justify your answer with analytical(with equation) and simulation results.
Ans: as it is a point body the mass and inertial properties depend only on the direction where the gravity is specified.
the mass of the body doesnt affect the acceleration due to gravity ideally so the rate of fall is not affected by the mass of the body.
2.In what case will the mass have an effect on the rate of fall? In the same case what other physical characteristics will affect the rate of fall?
Ans: if the body is falling in an enviroment where air resistance is cconsidered then the size and orientation of the bosy is affecting the rate of fall.
