Week 1 - Free Falling

1. Simulating the Free fall of a body of mass 1kg and inertia 1kg/m2,

Resutls in.

2. The Free fall of an object is given as.

h = 1/2xgxt^2

g: Acceleration due to gravity

t: duration of falling object.

So from the above equation it's clear that a free falling object only depends upon the g and t where as g is constant which is 9.81m/s^2 aproximatly. so it can be said that the longer the during of falling object is the more height it's travel.

the above shown is the figure of simulation done for a body falling under the influence of gravity with mass 1kg and inertia of 1kg/m^2 and other body with mass 2kg and inertia of 2kg/m^2. the resutls as shown above is same for both the body so hence it's proven that the rete of falling for a body under free fall is indepandent of it's mass and inertia properties.

3. The mass will effect the rate of fall it their is an external work done on the body

Other parameters that effect the rate of fall are

Air resistance

Body Surface area
