Use of connectors to connect various components of an automobile using Hypermesh
Objective-Create connector to attach the various parts of the given model using Hypermesh.
- Right_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Seam-Quad(angled+capped+L)
- 2. Left_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Quad elements
- Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Right_Rail_1:- Spot weldwith 3 Layers and 5 mm Diameter
- Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Left_Rail_1:- Hexa (Adhesive)
- Rear_truss_2 & Right_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector
- Rear_truss_2 & Left_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector
- Right_Rail_1 & Right_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Rigid Elements
- Left_Rail_1 & Left_Rail_2:- Spot-weld withSpring Elements
- Rest all the component left Join them with suitable connectors
Procedure
- Import the given frame assembly in Hypermesh.
Why do we perform meshing?
The basic idea of finite element analysis is to make calculations at only limited number of points and then interpolate the results for the entire domain. Any continuous object has infinite degrees of freedom and it’s just not possible to solve this problem in this format. Finite Element Method reduces the degrees of freedom from infinite to finite with the help of discretization or meshing.
- Mesh the given components using automesh under 2D panel.
