Tetra volume meshing of intake manifold using ANSA preprocessor
Tetra volume meshing of intake manifold using ANSA preprocessor
Aim:
- Geometry checking .
- Surface meshing with ortho tria and tria elements
- Volumetric meshing of 2d elements for structural analysis.
Procedure:
1. Import geometry, do TOPO and check for any defects using checks manager.
2.Mesh the surface. Curved surface meshed using ortho tria and the plane surface using tria elements. Spot mesh is used for above purpose. Ortho tria elements take more time for simulation purposes.
3.Assign PID for the volume elements and assign volume name for each of the closed surfaces.
4.Tetra Rapid mesh is used to create the required volumetric mesh following the quality criteria. The Tetcolapse elements are fixed using the move tool.
5.A cut is used to check the interior meshing. The volume mesh is found to be unstructured.
Learning outcomes:
1. Understood structure of intake manifold and surface meshing.
2.Volumetric meshing methods
3.Eliminating volume mesh errors such as Tetcollapse
Conclusion:
The unstructured mesh is produced by tetra mesh on the given model within given quality criteria.
