MID surface extraction for model 1
- Objective
Extracting MId surface for both model and apply mesh with quality criteria
- PROCEDURE
1 . Opening model and check for geometry errors
Click on file and open model file 1. Then open presentation paramerters and reduce detail on demand. Then checking for geometry errors And removing errors using combination of \'UNIVERSAL DELETE, TOPO, RELEASE, AND PASTE. Then running geometry check tool for any topology error.
2. MID SURFACE EXTRACTION OF MODEL 1 AND SETTING PID\'s
a. After geometry check extracting mid of door trim using manual method. first need to check the thickness at different places using meausure tool for better mid surface extraction. Then using \'inot, not, and, or\' just to make certain part of model visible for better visibility of model. Then extraction of mid surface using set of commands like \'middle and offset\'. And using topo command to join two cons. After extracting mid for all component and run geometry check tool for any errors.
Offset command is used to create a face at some distance of original face.
Middle command is used to create a middle face between two selected faces. for better mid surface extraction using middle make sure both faces have same cons.b. Taking mid surface of ribs and fixers and joinning then to main mid surface. using command like extend, and create new surface. After that check for geometry check for any type of errors.
c. Setting Pid\'s to model 1 using command \'setPid\' from \'faces\' then selecting surface of cap press middle mouse button, new dialog box opens, right click in dialog box select new, then assiging thickness and proving name to part then click OK. like fixers, ribs. use same measurment to assiging pID\'s and thickness to particular part.
3. GENERATING MESH WITH IN QUALITY CRITERIA
a. Genetrating mesh on door trim model\'s component one by one using \'BEST\' option from mesh generation. But first set the perimeters or element size as \'4mm\' Select whole model and press middel mouse button to confim. To apply mesh select \"best\" then select the component and middle mouse button to confirm mesh, and also checking for good mesh flow. For good mesh flow there should not be two trias pointing at same direction. To remove the trias using swap, split command and pasting nodes.
b. To remove the off elements using commands \'CUT,JOIN, SPILT, MOV SURFACE,paste nodes, DELETE HOT POINTS, SWAP, RECONSTRUCT MESH, smooth mesh, dach command, and creating removable cons to eliminate off elements.
DACH COMMAND : Dach command is used to remove fillet or create mid cons.
CUT COMMAND : Cut command is used to remove double cons or to remove unwanted coons which creating off elements.
SPLIT AND SWAP COMMAND : Split command is used to split the quad element into tria element which can create tria using nodes or edges of element. and swap command remove the edge and paste to adjecent edge.
MV SURFACE : Move surface is used where minor change in placement of nodes of elements can eliminate off elements.
RECONSTRUCT MESH : Reconstruct mesh is used to create mesh on meshed surface.
PASTE : Paste command is used to paste two nodes and remove tria element.
SMOOTH : Smooth command is used after correcting some mesh flow, to smooth the mesh throught out the selected area of surface
Enabling draw shell as solid
