MESHING OF SWITCH PANEL AND SHEETMETAL COMPONENT USING ANSA

AIM - To check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given quality criteria after meshing the componenet the thickness has to assign for the given component

Quality criteria-every product which is to be in produced will go for some quality checks.if the quality checks fails the steps like boundary condition and applying loads must be fail.for this reason element quality check is performed.to identify the quality failure the quality parameters is entered as put data. the quality criteria is shown in below

IMPORTENT THINGS WHILE MESHING

THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY OPPOSIT TRIAS IF IT OCCURING USE SPLIT OPTION TO AVOID

SMOOTHING COMMAND IS USED FOR SMOOTHENING MESH FOR GETTING GOOD MESH FLOW

ADJACENT TRIAS MUST BE REMOVED

ALWAYS MESH BY AWAIRING OF QUALITY REQUIRMENTS TRIAS SHOULD NOT BE PRESENT AT THE EDGES OF THE COMPONENT AND SHOULD NOT BE ORIGINATED FROM PERIMETERS

METHODOLOGY

1.Import cad geometry

2.Geometry cleanup

3.Midsurface genaration

2.GEOMETRY CLEANUP

To genarate fem we will go for geometry cleanup

surface patch ups ,creating new surfaces, eliminating unwanted triple cones in unwanted area, converting single cones to double cones in necessary area are comes under geometry cleanup phase. ANSA has some option to rebuild the surfaces for some extend

CAD MODEL NEEDS TO BE IMPORTED IN TO ANSA GUI.THIS IS DONE BY FILE >OPEN>SELECT CAD FILE>OPEN

THEN CAD FILE WILL BE OPENED IN ANSA SINCE THE PLATFORMS IN CAD AND CAE ARE DIFFARENT HENCE THERE WILL BE MANY TRANSLATIONAL ISSUES IN THE MODEL THAT IS IMPORTED. FIRST WE NEED TO TOPOLOGICALLY CLEAN UP THE HOOD COMPONENT TO TOPOLOGICAL CLEANUP THE COMPONENT SHOULD BE IN TOPO MODULE BEFORE THAT CHECK THE TOPOLOGICAL ERRORS OCCURED DUE TO THE PLATFORM CHANGE BY USE OF CHECKS MANAGER IN ANSA FOR THAT GO TO CHECKS MANAGER>GEOMETRY>EXECUTE SO WE CAN FIND THE TOPOLOGICAL ERRORS IN THE MODEL WE CAN GO TO EACH PART AND RECTIFY THE ERRORS

3.MIDSURFACE GENARATION IN ANSA

AS SHEET METAL HAS UNIFORM THICKNESS AND THE COMPONENET IS IN SYMMETRY SO WE CAN MAKE 2 HALVES OF COMPONENT USING PLANE CUT

EXTRACT MIDSURFACE USING FACES>OFFSET

4.MESHING

USING SPOT MESH ,BEST,FREE ETC

RESULT-THE GIVEN SHEET METAL COMPONENT IS MESHED
