Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code

Dead load calculation:

1. The size of the column is 230mm * 300mm [0.23m * 0.3m]

The height of the column is usually 10 feet from the ground floor. so for two floors, we will be having 20 feet of column height.

self-weight of column for 1m length = 0.23*0.3* 1 *25 (25 KN/m3 is the unit weight of concrete)

= 1.725 KN.

2. The size of the slab is 5 inches. (127 mm)

for 1 m span the self weight is = 1* 1 * 0.127 *25 = 3.175 KN.

3. the size of the beam is usually 0.22 * 0.22 m.

therefore the self-weight becomes = 0.22*0.22*1*25= 1.22 KN.

4. wall thickness is 9 inches.

the unit weight of bricks is 18 - 20 KN/m3.

the height of the Wall for 1 floor is 10 feet which is 3.05m.

so for two floors, it will be 6.1.

so the dead load of wall is 6.1 * 0.22 * 20= 26.84 KN.
