G+1 floor residential plan :

1) Ground floor plan -

2) First floor plan -

Dead Load calculation -

Assume -

Column size = 230mm X 450mm

Beam size = 230mm X 380mm

Slab to slab height = 3.2m

Dead load calculation for first floor :

Assume beam and column placement as given below -

Now calculate dead load -

Dead load of slab -

S1 = 4.50 X 2.29 X 0.15 X 25 = 38.6 KN

S2 = 2.90 X 3.66 X 0.15 X 25 = 39.8 KN

S3+S4 = 2 X (1.07 X 1.22 X 0.15 X 25) = 9.8 KN

S5 = 1.91 X 2.51 X 0.15 X 25 = 17.98 KN

S6 = 2.36 X 1.07 X 0.15 X 25 = 9.47 KN

S7 = 3.51 X 3.73 X 0.15 X 25 = 49.1 KN

Total dead load of first floor slab = 38.6+39.8+9.8+17.98+9.47+49.1 = 164.8 KN

Dead load of beams -

total length of beams = B1+B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7+B9+B11+B12+B13+B14+B15+B16+B17+B19+B20

= 4.96+3.13+4.96+3.13+2.36+2.82+2.6+3.97+2.29+2.29+3.66+2.51+1.22+2.51+2.51+3.73+3.73

= 52.38 m.

Now Area of beam = 0.23 X 0.38 = 0.0874 sq.m.

Therfore Volume of beam = 0.0874 x 52.38 = 4.58 cu.m.

Dead load of beams = 4.58 x 25 = 114.5 KN

Dead load of columns -

No of columns = 11 nos.

size of column = 0.23m X 0.45m

Height of columns = 2.82 m

Volume of columns = 2.82 X 11 X 0.23 X 0.45 = 3.21 cu.m.

Dead load of columns = 3.21 X 25 = 80.25 KN

Dead load of walls -

Thickness of walls = 0.15 m

Height of walls = 2.82 m

Length of walls = 4.27+2.90+2.06+2.06+3.2+4.35+2.90+2.51+2.51+2.28+2.36+1.22+2.13+2.37+3.5+3.5+3.51

= 45.57 m

Volume of walls = 45.57 X 2.82 X 0.15 = 19.28 cu.m.

Dead load of walls = 19.28 X 20 = 385.6 KN

Dead load calculation of Ground floor :

Assume beam and column placement as given below -

Now calculate dead load -

Dead load of slab -

S1 = 4.50 X 2.29 X 0.15 X 25 = 38.6 KN

S2 = 2.90 X 3.66 X 0.15 X 25 = 39.8 KN

S3+S4 = 2 X (1.07 X 1.22 X 0.15 X 25) = 9.8 KN

S5 = 1.91 X 2.51 X 0.15 X 25 = 17.98 KN

S6 = 2.36 X 1.07 X 0.15 X 25 = 9.47 KN

S7 = 3.51 X 3.73 X 0.15 X 25 = 49.1 KN

S8 = 3.73 X 1.22 X 0.15 X 25 = 17.06 KN

S9 = 2.51 X 2.44 X 0.15 X 25 = 22.97 KN

S10 = 2.36 X 2.44 X 0.15 X 25 = 21.6 KN

Total dead load of ground floor slab = 38.6+39.8+9.8+17.98+9.47+49.1+17.06+22.97+21.6 = 226.43 KN

Dead load of beams -

Total length of beams = B1+B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7+B8+B9+B10+B11+B12+B13+B14+B15+B16+B17+B18+B19+B20+B21+B22

= 4.96+3.13+4.96+3.13+2.36+2.82+2.6+2.44+3.97+3.89+2.29+2.29+3.66+2.51+1.22+2.51+2.51+2.74+3.73+3.73+3.5+2.59

= 67.54 m.

Now Area of beam = 0.23 X 0.38 = 0.0874 sq.m.

Therfore Volume of beam = 0.0874 x 67.54 = 5.9 cu.m.

Dead load of beams = 5.9 x 25 = 147.5 KN

Dead load of columns -

No of columns = 13 nos.

size of column = 0.23m X 0.45m

Height of columns = 2.82 m

Volume of columns = 2.82 X 13 X 0.23 X 0.45 = 3.79 cu.m.

Dead load of columns = 3.79 X 25 = 94.75 KN

Dead load of walls -

Thickness of walls = 0.15 m

Height of walls = 2.82 m

Length of walls = 4.27+2.90+2.06+2.06+3.2+4.35+2.90+2.51+2.51+2.28+2.36+1.22+2.13+2.37+3.5+3.5+3.51+3.5+2.44+2.28+2.13+3.89

= 59.81 m

Volume of walls = 59.81 X 2.82 X 0.15 = 25.3 cu.m.

Dead load of walls = 25.3 X 20 = 506 KN

Dead load of Plinth beams -

Total length of plinth beams = B1+B2+B3+B4+B5+B6+B7+B8+B9+B10+B11+B12+B13+B14+B15+B16+B17+B18+B19+B20+B21+B22

= 4.96+3.13+4.96+3.13+2.36+2.82+2.6+2.44+3.97+3.89+2.29+2.29+3.66+2.51+1.22+2.51+2.51+2.74+3.73+3.73+3.5+2.59

= 67.54 m.

Now Area of beam = 0.23 X 0.38 = 0.0874 sq.m.

Therfore Volume of beam = 0.0874 x 67.54 = 5.9 cu.m.

Dead load of plinth beams = 5.9 x 25 = 147.5 KN
