Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code

Aim:

Sketch a G+1 floor residential plan, According to Vaastu Shastra and structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.

Introduction:

Vaastu Shastra:

  • Vaastu shastra is the ancient Indian science of archieture and acts as a guidelines to deisgn your home.
  • Out nature is abundant with powerhouse of energy sources ;like sun , wind, moon, water, fire.
  • A good home needs to radiate the right kind of energy.
  • effect of sun rays, flow of find , pulls of earth magnectic field.

significance of eight direction:

  • Four cardinal direction North south, east, west
  • Four intercardinal direction North east , North west, South east, south west
  • North - wealth
  • south Dharma
  • west and east - overall prosperity.

Basic principle of Vaast shastra:

  • shape : Rooms should be preferably be in square and rectangle.
  • Room basics: Rooms should be airy , welllit , Bright and clean.
  • Home centre: centre of the house should be in empty space.
  • stairs and furiture: heavy furniture should be kept in south west direction.
  • Water : avoid keeping plants and water features in the bedrrom.

Dining table: It should be` keep near to kitchemn.

Kitchen: south - East is the best.

staircase : south - west is the best.

Toilet : North west is the best.

Master Bedroom: south west is the best

Guest Room : North west is the best

living room : North West is the best

Over head tank: westt is the best

Structural Drawing:

Central Line :

  • Centre line is the first step.
  • Create a Short template while providing Structutal drawing.
  • Layout of the column has been provided.
  • Each and every column has specified in dimension.
  • Grid distance must be provided in details.

Layout of column and Footing Reinforecement:

  • Next step of centre line is layout of column and footing.
  • Create a short template of reinforcement provided and curing details and all neccessary details should be provided in the short notes.
  • In structural drawing , reinforecement details has been provided for column and foorting.

Column schdeule reinforcement :

  • Cross section of column has been provided.
  • Thickness of PCC must be provided .
  • sand filling below the PCC must be provided and ensure it compacted.
  • How much cranked bars are provided in column and ties are also provided foir this column.
  • Column naming and reinforcement details has been provided.
  • Hoew much stirupps and bar are used it also mentioned in sectional drawing.

Liftpit Reinforcement:

  • Reinforecment of liftpit has been provided.
  • below ground level snad filling needs to be compacted.
  • PCC thickness has been mentioned .
  • RCC water proofing and reinforecemnt were mentioned in sructural drawing.
  • Liftpit reinforcement also mentioned in the cross sectionsl drawing.

Plinthbeam Reinforcement:

  • Reinforecment of plinthbeam has been provided.
  • for every beam it has its own naming like PB1 , PB2 .
  • Reinforecement of the beam has been mentioned in the structural drawing.
  • Distance between each beam has been mentioned in the reinforcement details.

Slab Reinforcement details of Stilt:

  • Reinforcement details of stilt level beams are provided.
  • Sunken slab also mentioned.
  • Slab reinforecement details were mentioned in detailed.
  • cranked reinforcment details were also mentioned clearly for every floors.

Load calculation:

Calculate the Dead load of Column size:

column of size (0.45mx0.45mx4.5m)

Unit weight of concrete = 25KN/m^3

= 0.45 X 0.45 X 4.5 X 25

= 22.78 KN

Dead load of column = 22.78 KN

Calculate the wall load on a beam of height 4m:

Thickness of wal = 230mm

= 0.23m

Beam of height = 4m

Unit weight of brick wall = 20

= 0.23 X 4 X 20

= 18.4 KN/m

Calculate the self-weight of a slab of 250mm thickness and span 4m x 4m:

Thickness of slab = 250mm

= 0.25m

span 4m X 4m

= 0.25 X 25 X 4 X 4

= 100KN/m^2

Live load :

Kitchen = 2 KN/m^2

Toilets and bathroom = 0 KN/m^2

Living room = 2 KN/m^2

Terrace = 3 KN/m^2

Store rooms = 5 KN/m^2

Windload : No windload is considered for the structure because it less than 10m.

Result:

Here i have done G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra, and structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.
