Section Modulus calculation and optimization

Use the Section from your Hood design and calculate the Section Modulus using the formula

S = I/y

Where,

S = Section Modulus

I = Moment of Inertia

y = distance between the neutral axis and the extreme end of the object

S = I/y

I = 4.761e-007m4

Y=479.013

Y=half of the total length so y = 239.5065

So S = 4.761e-007/239.5065 = 0.019749mm3

S = I/y

I = 5.07e-007m4

Y=479.013

Y=half of the total length so y = 239.5065

So S = 5.07e-007/239.5065 = 0.019749mm3

CONCLUSION:-

So, here the difference can be seen in the moment of inertia and the change in the section modulus can be seen by the change in the design(depth).
