Section Modulus calculation and optimization

Taking The Intersection Curve of the Hood Outer and Inner Panel and Fill it to Measure the Inertia

 CASE 1 : Taking The Hood Intersection Curve as it is ,

Minimum Value of Inertia in Section Modulus = 2.375e-006m4

Distance between Both ends of the object (2y) =896.867

Distance between the neutral axis and the extreme end of the object  (y) =  448.4335

S = I / Y

S =  2.375e-006m4 / 448.4335

S = 2.13665...mm3

CASE 2 : Taking Parallel curve of the inner panel to 1mm Downwards

Minimum Value of Inertia in Section Modulus = 2.583e-006m4

Distance between Both ends of the object (2y) =896.867

Distance between the neutral axis and the extreme end of the object  (y) =  448.4335

S = I / Y

S = 2.583e-006m4 / 448.4335

S = 2.32377..mm3
