Project - Data Handling and Interpolation

Project Answer:-

Interpolation:-

  • interpolation is method for adding new data points within a range of setb known data points, by using the interpolation fill the missing data,arrange predictions & smooth existing data etc , interpolation is divided into technique for data points on grid and scattered data points.
  • In engineering applications we run in to situation where some x-y data might not availabe.
  • In those situations we can use interpolation to determine the 'y' values corresponding to a specific set of 'x' values.
  • Matlab functions to help with interpolation are: a) interp1 & b) interp2.
% Import the data
fileid1=xlsread('VI.xlsx','sheet1','A2:B25');
Vvolt=fileid1(:,1);
Iamp=fileid1(:,2);
ip=[-17.3:0.1:0.9] %%data interpolation range.
x=interp1(Vvolt,Iamp,ip);
x1=interp1(Vvolt,Iamp,ip,'spline');
figure(1);
plot(Vvolt,Iamp,'ob',ip,x,'+');
xlabel('voltage')
ylabel('current')
legend('Vvolt','Iamp');
grid;
figure(2)
plot(Vvolt,Iamp,'g',ip,x,'*');
xlabel('voltage');
ylabel('current');
legend('Vvolt','Iamp');
fileid=fopen('C:\Users\amdni\OneDrive\Desktop\matlab_project3.txt','w');
save x1.txt;
save x1.mat;
save x.txt;
save x.mat;
