Uber Supply-Demand Gap Analysis - EDA

Aim: - This project aims to analyze data in detail on uber supply and demand gap analysis.

 

Introduction:

We have a data about uber cab service. In it we have request time and drop time of cab. Customer pickup point, driver id, and status about cancel cab, no car available and trip completion.

Problem Statement:

• Find the gap between demand of cab and supply of cab.
• what is the peak time for booking cab.

 

Methodology:

Step 1: Data cleaning

In this step I cleaned the data with the transform data option present in Power BI because the dataset was not cleaned and included some missing values, I cleaned the data and replace the NA values with empty and then started working on it. Changed request timestamp and drop timestamp to date and time format than remove the error columns. After that extract time from both the columns. Removed the driver id column.

Step 2: Data interpretation

In this step I found out some important information about the data set.

• There is total of 6745 rows of data and 6 columns.
• After cleaning the data 5064 rows of data and 8 columns.

Step 3: Visualization

In visualization, I took the help of Power BI Desktop software to make graphs and charts here some relevant graphs and charts are attached.

Analysis (Data sheets pertaining to it):

In observation found some interesting points that are mentioned below.

• The dataset available is July, November and December of 2016,
• Total trip completed is 2650 which is 69.74% and no cab available is 1150 which is 30.26.
• Total pickup point from airport is 2470(48.78%) and from city is 2594(51.22%).
• No cab available in city is 937 and in airport is 1713.
• Trip completed airport is 559 and in city is 591.
• Most demanding time for cab is from 5 AM to 10 AM and another is 5 PM to 10 PM.

Insights:

• Still most of the cab demand are not satisfy.
• Pick up point value are almost same for airport and city.

Recommendations:

• Need to increase cab service.
• During pick time need to increase cab services which is from 5 AM to 10 AM and another is 5 PM to 10 PM.
• Airport area need more cab services.

Conclusion: - In conclusion, we can take a look at the final Report for further analysis. As we can see in the Report the demand of cab is more than it supplies and also airport needs more cab services.
