Project 1 - Parsing NASA thermodynamic data

  • The following equations were used for the computation of specific heat, enthalpy and entropy at specified temperature ranges.

CpR=a1+a2T+a3T2+a4T3+a5T4CpR=a1+a2T+a3T2+a4T3+a5T4_____(1)

HRT=a1+a2T2+a3T23+a4T34+a5T45+a6THRT=a1+a2T2+a3T23+a4T34+a5T45+a6T_____(2)

SR=a1lnT+a2T+a3T22+a4T33+a5T44+a7SR=a1lnT+a2T+a3T22+a4T33+a5T44+a7_____(3)

where S,Cp,HS,Cp,H are entropy , specific heat and enthalpy at specified TT temperatures.

OBJECTIVES

  • A set of commands were used to access the file and extract local temperature ranges and 14 coefficients of each compound.
  • A function was created for the computation of all the required parameters in the low and high temper temperature regime.
  • The molecular weight of each compound was calculated and printed in the command window.
  • Each frame for each compound's graphs are plotted, extracted and stored in a folder in the same directory as the MATLAB code.
