This project aims to develop an English Dictionary App and a Library Book Management System. The project will be divided into two parts, with the first part focusing on the development of the English Dictionary App and the second part focusing on the Library Book Management System.
1A: English Dictionary App
The English Dictionary App will be built using Python. The app will have a simple user interface that allows users to enter a word and get its definition. The app will use an API to retrieve the definition of the word and display it to the user. In addition to the search functionality, the app will also have a feature that allows users to save their favorite words.
1B: Library Book Management System
The Library Book Management System will be developed using Python and the Tkinter GUI toolkit. The system will allow librarians to manage a collection of books, including adding, editing, and deleting books. The system will be implemented with a SQLite database that will store information about each book, including title, author, year of publication, and ISBN (optional).
The GUI will consist of a main window that will display a list of all the books in the database. Users will be able to search for books using keywords or specific criteria (such as author or publication year). The GUI will also allow librarians to add new books to the database, edit existing books, and delete books. In addition, the system will have a feature that calculates and manages fines for late returns.
Outcome:
The project will result in two separate applications, an English Dictionary App and a Library Book Management System. These applications will demonstrate the use of Python and various libraries and frameworks to develop functional and user-friendly applications. The project will also highlight the importance of effective book management in libraries and the potential benefits of technology in improving access to educational resources.
