Project 1 - English Dictionary App & Library Book Management System

Project-1

1A: English Dictionary App

This App helps the user to Add there word and meaning to the Word and also helps to update the meaning later

this created using python and sqlite3 database

This is a simple dictionary app that allows users to add new words with their meanings, find the meanings of existing words, and update the meanings of words. The data is stored in a Python dictionary and saved to a file using pickle for persistence.

The functions in the code perform the following tasks:

  • add_word(word_dict): This function takes a dictionary word_dict as input, prompts the user to enter a new word and its meaning, and adds them to the dictionary. Then, it calls the save_words() function to save the updated dictionary to a file.

  • find_meaning(word_dict): This function takes a dictionary word_dict as input, prompts the user to enter a word to find its meaning, and prints the meaning if the word is found in the dictionary.

  • update_word(word_dict): This function takes a dictionary word_dict as input, prompts the user to enter a word to update, and its new meaning. If the word is found in the dictionary, the function updates the meaning and calls the save_words() function to save the updated dictionary to a file.

  • save_words(word_dict): This function takes a dictionary word_dict as input and saves it to a file named 'words.txt' using pickle for serialization.

  • load_words(): This function loads the dictionary from the 'words.txt' file using pickle and returns it. If the file is not found, an empty dictionary is returned.

  • main(): This is the main function of the dictionary app that displays a menu to the user and takes input for different operations based on the user's choice. It calls the respective functions to perform the desired operation, until the user chooses to exit.

1B: Library Book Management System

The code provided is an example of a basic library book management system implemented using the Tkinter library in Python. It allows users to perform CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations on books in a library. The user interface consists of a window with input fields for book title, author, year, and ISBN, as well as buttons for various actions such as creating, reading, updating, and deleting book records.

The code uses SQLite as the database to store book records. It defines several functions for performing CRUD operations on the database, such as creating a new record, reading records from the database and displaying them in a tree view widget, updating existing records, and deleting records. There is also a search function that allows users to search for books based on the book title, author, year, or ISBN.

This app helps to store the books details of the library managemnet
