Project 1 - COVID-19 Vaccinations Trend Analysis

Aim:-

To create effective Dashboard on COVID-19 VACCINATION TREND ANALYSIS using POWER BI.

Introduction:-

The global battle against COVID 19 pandemic can be won only if a large part of the world gets vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. A considerably low vaccination rate has been observed in low-income countries of the world. In this blog, we study the COVID 19 vaccination trends across the world using python, and we aim to derive key insights from the data which can help policymakers modify their policies.

Problem Statement:-

For this we use below dataset to analyse the Dashboard for COVID vaccinated countries.

Methodology:-

• Import CSV dataset using HOME >> Get DATA >> TEXT/CSV.
• Select the file , clean the data and Load it to BI.
• If any error in dataset transport to power query editor and clean the data.
• Create a DATE table by using below formulae in the new table form >> “DATE Table = CALENDERAUTO()” and press enter.
• Create a relationship between date table and main dataset by using appropriate columns.
• Modify column names to proper case names for better understanding.

Analysis:-

1.Select Theme:-

• Go to View tab -> Under Themes Select Executive ( you can select based on your choice)

2. Create Snapshot View:-

• Click on Card visual → Added to the canvas area.
• Select field People Fully Vaccinated
• Click on Format → Go to Data label and Category Label. Change Color, Font family and Text size. add some background colour to it.
• Follow the same process for Total Vaccinations, People Vaccinated and Total Country.
• To derive Total Country → Select the Country column and change to Count (Distinct) from the drop-down.
• Using Format painter, copy the same format for all the Card visuals.

3. Add YEAR slicer:-

• Add Slicer visual beside the card visuals.
• Add Date Hierarchy → Keep only Year
• Normally people are interested to know how the vaccine process is going month on month.

4. Create Line Graph “People Vaccinated by Date”:-

• Add Line Chart to the canvas area.
• Add Date in Axis and People Vaccinated in Values. As it is a trend analysis (based on date, that’s why it is called trend), it is preferable to use a line graph to show how data varies over time.

5. Create Clustered Column Chart “Top 10 Country by People Fully Vaccinated”:-

• Add Bar Chart to the canvas area.
• Add Country in Axis and People Fully Vaccinated in Values.
• To display any comparison analysis, it is preferable to use a clustered column chart.
• In the Filters section, select Top N filter type from Country, add show items 10 and By value People Fully Vaccinated.

6. Create Clustered Bar Chart “Top 10 Country by Daily Vaccinations”:-

• Add Bar Chart to the canvas area.
• Add Country in Axis and Daily Vaccinations in Values.
• As it is also a comparison analysis, so you can use a bar graph. This time I am using Clustered Bar Chart.
• In the Filters section, select Top N filter type from Country, add show items 10 and By value Daily Vaccinations.

7. Create Map Visual “Total Vaccinations by Country”:-

• Add Map visual to the canvas area.
• Add Country in Location and Total Vaccinations in Size.
• In this analysis, you want to get some idea overall vaccinations process across all countries. For this, map visual is ideal.

Conclusions:-

The total COVID 19 vaccination count (in billions) is the highest in China followed by India, the United States, and Brazil. However, the total vaccination per capita is high for Gibraltar, Cuba, Chile, Singapore, UAE, Malta, and Brunei.

China’s Cansino, Sinopharm, and Sinovac vaccination schemes are most frequently used followed by India’s Covaxin, Oxford/Astra Zeneca, and SputnikV, and United States Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer.

The analysis suggests that countries in the African continent have extremely low vaccination rates and are far behind the other continents of the world. Therefore, WHO organizations should intervene to provide equitable distribution of vaccines across the world.
