Project 1_Comparative study of different storey buildings for Seismic forces

Aim:to have a comparative study on ;

*factor influcting the dynamic characteristics of different building for seismic force and nature of period ,mode shape .

*data assumed as per qestion:

beam=300*400mm

column=400*400mm

slab=150mm

*material properties:

m30 concrete

FE415 steel reinforcement bars

loads:

dead load on beam for infill wall 10kn/m

live load on floor 3kn/m

buildings are assumed to be concept of natural period

procedure:

genaeal procedure

*open the etabs software ,select new model

*use the built settings with and add grids ,add number of storeys

*now add the materials m30 and fe415

*now add beam properties and column properties

*now add slab properties and slab thickness be 150mm

*now add the dead load and live load and wall with super dead ans seismic are eqx is 1893 ;2016 and also eqy is is 1893;2016

*now add load paterns and add mass sources as dead is 1 and live is half 0.25 and wall

* check the load cases

*now add the load combination in concrete

*now add the coloumn for the structure

*add beams also the structure

*now apply the wall loads on the wall is 10 kn/m on the beams

*now add the live load on the all slab section for the structure in 3 kn/m

*now slect the slab sections for the structure and add the diaphragms all the floors

*this diaphragms is the centere of mass of every storeys

*and now run the analysis

*select the show tabels from the menu,and select analysis result,select the required tabeles and now the tabels are will be visible

for comparing the fundamental natural periods of buildings E&F as well as G&H

a) the natural period of building e is 1.731 sec

b)the natural period of building f is 1.86 sec

c)the natural period of building g is 4.474 sec

d)the natural period of building h is 3.916 sec

e) the natural period of building j is 3.668 sec

f) the natural period of building k is 4.73 sec

g)the natural period of building a is 0.34 sec

h)the natural period of building b is 0.84 sec

i)the natural period of building c is 1.42 sec

j)the natural period of building d is 1.136 sec
