TITLE-MODELLING AND RENDERING AMERICAN CHOPPER USING SOLIDWORKS

OBJECTIVE:-

Create 3d model American chopper using solidworks 2021

Create sub-assemblies of different models using solidworks 2021

Assembly of model parts create final model.

Rendering final model to get photorealistic model using Solidworks Photoview 360.

INTRODUCTION

Designing of any object start with the sketching of 2D and convert it into 3D Modelling. There are so many CAD softwares available for 2D sketching and 3D modelling.2D Environment means representations of views in 2D or X and Y plane only.3D environment means we can see physical body in 3D space or X,Y and Z planes. In part modelling you can create part by conceptual sketch through solid feature-based modelling. This project consists of concept of sketching, part modelling and final Assembly of American Chopper using Solidworks 2021.

What is SOLIDWORKS?

Solidworks is a 3D modelling software (CAD/CAE) which is used to model a product and perform analysis to check its behavior in real world. It is Developed by Dassault System.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY

DESCRIPTION

Part creation process start from drawing fully define 2D sketches. These Sketches are reference to multiply feature/surfaces by which 3D part created.

SKETCH

Sketch consists of various options for creating different entities. Some of these are as follows.

  • Line
  • Rectangle
  • Polygone
  • Spline
  • Offset
  • Fillet
  • Convert entities
  • Trim Entities
  • Pattern

There are different ways available to use above options.

  • Feature and Surfaces

These tabs consist of multiple options which can help to create different shape solid body and surfaces. All require options will discuss in each part of modelling of American Chopper.

  • Appearance

In this feature, we can apply material or visual appearance to part or model. These appearances help us while rendering to achieve real world image.

  • Fillet: This feature is used to converts external and internal edges into rounded shape.
  • Offset Entities: offset option is used to create some entities on some distance or create loop of entities

Procedure

  • First draw fully define sketch of require dimension on front plane using line and arc option. Then offset the sketch on some distance to create thickness of belt.
  • Then extrude command used to convert 2D sketch into 3D object.
  • Fillet is applied as per requirement to sharp corners or edges.
  • Transmission belt is ready and ready to save.

Assembly Of American Chopper

To start assembly, we have to load new assembly file.

While assembly we need to insert each part step by step followed by mating relation to each other

Feature Used For Assembly

  • Insert Part

  • Mirror

Whereas,

Mates: It is used to provide relation between part as per their working principle. We have to define the mates as per the present condition and whatever look we require.

Following Are The Relations Used In Mates

  1. Coincident
  2. Parallel
  3. Concentric
  4. Angel Tangent
  5. Width mate

Rendering is the process of creating realistic image model in real world environment.

Rendering can be done in two ways in solidworks

  • Photoview 360
  • Solidworks Visualize

Followings are the Rendering images in photoview 360

CONCLUSION:

  • Understanding of use interface of solidworks.
  • Part Modelling of American Chopper using solid modelling in solidworks
  • understanding of features and flexibility modelling in solidworks
  • In assembly part get assembled and correct it in assembly area only as per the requirement of assembly.
  • The realistic image generates in photoview 360.
