OBJECTIVE:
- To check for the geometrical errors and to perform geometry cleanup
- To mesh the given component with the required element Quality criteria.
- To assign thickness after meshing the component.

PROCEDURE:
- Assign perimeter length of 1 mm and use the topo option on the geometry.
- Now use the geometry check option to check for the geometrical irregularities.
- Repair the geometrical errors use the auto fix option and also by manual cleanup.
- Now remove the unwanted hot points using the delete option.
- Start extracting the mid surface using the offset and middle options.
- Use extent and intersect options to connect and remove the surfaces.
- Use the create curve option to create curves which can be used to create the mid-surface for the thread like geometry.
- After extracting the mid surface, check for the geometrical errors.
- Repair the geometrical errors and maintain the connectivity.
- Remove the double cons which does not satisfy the quality criteria.
- Assign perimeter length of 1 mm since our target length is 1 mm.
- Now mesh the mid surface.
- Use reconstruct, reshape, smooth and fix quality options to repair the elements that does not satisfy the quality criteria.
- After the successful meshing, create properties for the surfaces and assign thickness.
- Use draw shells as solids option to see the thickness assigned to the elements.
MID-SURFACE
MESHING:
The model has been meshed as per given quality criteria.
THICKNESS:
CONCLUSION:
- The geometry cleanup and mid-surface extraction has been completed successfully.
- The given geometry has been meshed satisfying the given quality criteria
- Successfully created property cards and assigned thickness to the surfaces.
