Assignment 1-2D Meshing Challenge

REPORT

• AIM:- To Perform 2D meshing of the given 3 Solid models using Hypermesh software

• What Will I Learn:- In performing 2D meshing various approaches of geomtery clean up and filling up surfaces to get perfect mesh and quality will be determined through Hyperworks software.

• PROCEDURE:- To Perform 2D meshing various steps have been followed

1. Download the files provided and open them it would lead through Hyperworks software
2. Import geometry by clicking on the file option and in graphics area we have the model present
3. To achieve midsurface geometry has to be cleaned up of unwanted lines this can be done using quick edit and features such as toggling,filler surface,replace points etc.
4. After figuring out clean surface that is by filling all gaps we can go for midsurface and extract it .
5. After getting midsurface make it current and perform meshing bu clicking 2D mesh and choosing automesh of surfaces required provide the dimensions and perform meshing.
6. Meshing can be smoothed and can be made more accurate by combining tria elements or replacing node points and applying watcher split at circular sections to get an accurate mesh.
7. Meshing analysis can be checked through tool option by checking elements and performing the check for mesh time and tet collapse.

• CONCLUSION:- 2D mesh has been succesfully created using the steps mentioned and this has been performed in Hypermesh 2019 cracked version.

• INFERENCES:- Performing challenges have made a free experience over the software and mad eit comfortable to understand the meshing procedure
