To attach the various components of the given model using appropriate connectors
Objective:
to attach the various parts of the given model using appropriate connectors.
Procedure:
- First import the model into the Hypermesh
- Mesh the all surfaces with 5mm element size with mixed element type
- First we need to connect the right rail 2 and front truss 1 using Seam-Quad (angled+capped+L)
- Go to 1D > connectors > seam > seam-quad (angled+capped+L) > nodes by path > spacing > components > tolerance 10mm > create
- When The connector is created it shows as green im colour if not red in colour
- Connect left rail 2 and front truss 1 with quad elements
- Go to 1D > connectors > seam > quads > spacing > components > tolerance > create
- Connect front truss 1 , 2 and right rail 1 with spot weld with 3 layers and 5mm diameter
- Go to 1D > connectors > spot > type weld > nodes > components > no of layers 3 > tolerance 10mm > diameter 5mm > create
- Connect front truss 1 , 2 and left rail 1 with Hexa (Adhesive)
- For this go to 1D > connectors > seam > Hexa Adhesive > nodes by path > components > give strips and coats > create
- Connect rear truss 2 and right rail 2 using bolt connectors
- For this go to 1D > bolt > bolt (general) > create hole if none > create
- Connect rear truss 2 and left rail 2 using bolt connector
- Connect RR1 and RR2 with using spot-weld with Rigid elements
- For this go to 1D > Spot-weld > using nodes > give nodes > rigid elements > create
- Connect LR 1 and LR 2 with using Sopt-weld with Spring elements
- For this go to 1D > Spot-weld > using nodes > give nodes > spring elements > create
Conclusion:
- From this challenge we learnt how to create different types of connectors.
