Stress Analysis for plate with single and double holes

From the analysis point of view we can select the plate having single hole because we can in second case we can see that significant amount of equivalent stress developed in two smaller holes in the plate which can lead formation of crack faster than plate with single hole as the atoms near the holes will not arranged properly.

From the manufacturing point of view we can select the first case because

• Time will be minimized for manufacturing the plate with single hole.
• Different drill bit is to be used for the smaller two holes.
• In the first case can be worked with lathe machine whereas second case requires vertical milling machine to drill holes.
