Project

Performing batch meshing on the given components and assigning non linear material property

Objective: To perform batch meshing on the given components and assign non linear material property

Procedure:

A. Hood:

1. Import the model in Hypermesh Radioss module and check for any geometrical errors.

2. Create and save parameter and criteria files as per given input:

In criteria make sure to chekc \"extract mid-surface\" option.

3. Duplicate the components and rename them. We will use these components to extract the mesh.

4. Select one component, make it current and apply batch meshing by selecting all surfaces and inputting the .param and .criteria files:

5. The Inner extract model after batch meshing:

After meshing is carried out we check if the midsurface is properly extracted by making the parent geometry transparent.

6. Check for errors in the mesh as shown here:

We use topology cleanup tools to fix the badly extracted surface shown above:

7. Similarly topology cleanup is performed wherever necessary.

8. Outer body mesh:

9. Hinge and Latch:

10. Check for any free edges and duplicate elements:

11. Now we create a material card as shown:

Now we create property cards for the respective thicknesses as shown:

These cards are applied to the respective components.

B. Fender

1. Import the model in Hypermesh Radioss module and check for geometrical errors.

2. Perform batch meshing on the surfaces as in previous steps.

3. Final mesh result:

Result:

The Given model is meshed using batch meshing and the material property is assigned.
