Meshing of the given cylinder model using ANSA

OBJECTIVE

The main obejctive of this challenge is to mesh the given cylinder model in ANSA with a given mesh size of one units.

METHODOLOGY

1. Import the model.
2. Set-up the display.
3. Make geometry error free by using check option present in ANSA.
4. Setting PID for different surfaces.
5. Generating mesh.

PROCEDURE

First we imported given model. To view the complete geometry, we selected shadow display mode.Change from ENT to PID mode. This will be displayed by change in colour of geometry.

Under quality criteria, select draw cons PID,MID etc. By checking this option the boundaries of the surface changes to yellow colour.Under check manager select geometry check. If everthing is perefct a green tick will appear.

Created three surfaces inlet, wall and outlet using set PID.Next step is to generate mesh.

Now to change mesh size from deafult 20 units to 1 units, select length option and change mesh size to 1. Now select spot meshing and change element type to tria.BY clicking middle mouse button, final mesh will be generated.

RESULTS

The given model is meshed and it can be checked by image below.

CONCLUSION

By doing this challenge, we learnt how to import model, make model error free and finally meshing for given mesh size.
