MESHING OF HOOD

Objective:

To mesh the given hood component according to the given meshing criteria.

Procedure:

• The given component is

• Each component of the hood is subjected to midsurface extraction separately.

• For meshing,automesh option is used with element size as 5mm and mixed element type.
• Except latch component,other components are symmetrical.
• Hence,one side is meshed and the other side is subjected to elements reflection by duplicating the elements to current component and reflecting.
• The latch component is meshed last to maintain element connectivity.
• The edges are checked for connectivity and equivalenced by using edges option in 2D option.

• Thickness properties are created for each component.

• The failed elements are cleaned up using element cleanup options.
