It is a technique of optimization based on natural selection . as darwin says the not the strong and tough but fittest will survice (who can adapt to the changes0

Genetic algorythm does not require any calculus process as it by other optimization technique.GA selects the radom set of varibles(population )and evaluates towards optimal solution by iterative process of making new generation. childerens can be cormed by mutation or crossover process

Process of GA:

1) Initial guess of Population or selection of set of variables.

2)Finding the childrens (which will behave as parent for next iterations) based on there fitness towards optimization function and repeating these process till the most possible optimal solution is achived .
