Cleaning the topology and Meshing the given Cylinder CAD Model using ANSA
Objective :
- To clean the given topology of Cylinder CAD model using ANSA.
- To name the individual parts and assign individual PID's to them.
- To surface mesh the given topology.
Topology clean up :
The given topology is imported into the ANSA and inspected for any kind of surface errors present in it. The topology is then prepared for meshing.
Boundary conditions :
Using Set PID option from the Faces tool bar we assign different boundaries to various parts of the Cylinder. Later they are named and assigned with different colours to distinguish them from each other.
Meshing :
Using Free mesh from the Surface mesh generation tool bar, the Cylinder model is meshed.
- Firstly, we need to navigate to the MESH mode.
- Now select Length from Parameters tool bar then select all the parts of the Cylinder model and assign the Length equal to 1units.
- Using Free and Visible from the Mesh Generation tool bar, mesh the model completely.
Cylinder model before Meshing,
Cylinder model after Meshing.
Conclusion :
- The given Cylinder CAD model was checked for surface errors.
- Different PID's were assigned to different parts and then named accordingly.
- The Cylinder model was then meshed for 1units of mesh size/length.
