CAR CRASH

SIMULATION OF CAR CRASH

Analysis Procedure:

Firstly, we need to Export the explicit analysis and select structural steel NL material. After importing the geometry, The parts are named accordingly. Now, for car body the SS NL material is assigned. We are not interested in any contacts and so deleted. The mesh is generated with sizing goes high from front to tail with tetrahedran and triangles elements. The symmetry is included for both the body and wall. A fixed joint is assigned to car back part and then a displacement of 500 mm for wall. This analysis is carried with car body thickness values of 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5.

As we can see that the values of stress and deformation decreases with increase in thickness value. This is because, as the material increases, the stresses and deformation is distributed more showing low stress and deformation values.
