Project

A1

objective: 2D MESHING OF GIVEN GEOMETRY

PROCESS STEPS:

1. Firstly, we need to look up the import model option and import the model into graphics are

2. The imported model is then looked for any untoggled or non uniform edges which are to be toggled using toggle edges option.

3. After the geometry is clear, the midsurface is extracted

4. On the midsurface complete meshing is performed.

5. With the target element size 5mm the midsurface is meshed surface by surface by filling any unwanted surfaces.

6. For the holes to be meshed, a washer surface is created for a better uniform meshing all over the surface.

7. Remeshing is done in the non uniform areas by selecting the mesh edges carefully.

8. After meshing is done on each surface, the element connectivity should be checked and if no connecticity between nodes, should be given enough tolarence value for equivalence.

9. in the process of meshing, better to avoid any tiangular elements for proper results

10. for the geometry that is with symmytry, reflect option is used to make the opposite side to be meshed.

11. A good mesh is performed in such a way that the energy or the force entered on to the element should be carried on the same elemental line.

12. for checking the quality of aa mesh, the required parameters which are minimum and maximum lengths 3.5 mm and 7 mm respectively are given and checked.

13. for the features which are smaller in size, the defeature option is used to give us the pefecr surface to be meshed.

14. for the elements splitting and combining whenever required, edit elemt option is used.

CONCLUSION:

it is clear that the better the mesh quality, the better the results are.
