Solution – First we check if there are any topological errors by geometry checks. There are no errors.
- Now we set the mesh parameters with minimum and maximum length and quality criteria for shell and solds and tet collapse.
- We change the length to 5mm
- We first try to mesh the Hole are where the bolts are going to be fitted. The curved surfaces need to be meshed with ortho trias as they capture the surface perfectly.
But at some areas the length is to small to follow the minimum length criteria.
So we defeature some of the cons which are too close to each other.
Meshing the entire model with tria or ortho tria elements. This can be done using spot mesh.
Also we see that there are some minimum and maximum length errors. We try to reduce the errors by reconstruct.
Now we reduce the minimum and maximum length error.
For volume meshing we go to Volume Mesh Mode. here we have to first define the volume.
After defining the volume if we go to list option we see our volume.
Now it is unmeshed. In order to mesh it we can right click on the name of volume in list box and say remesh. Here ansa asks for which type of mesh algorithm we need to apply.
In this case i have opted for Tetra rapid.
Once We mesh the volume we see that there are lot of elements failing for Quality.
But important quality is Tet collapse in solid mesh. So we try to remove all the Tet collapse from the model. we Can do this by moving the element on the inner side rather the to move it on to sufrace.
We can also give Fix quality for some of the elements.
Thus after removing the Tet Collapse there are Minimum and Maximum lenght errors.
We try to reducer the number of errors but we see while removing the error there are dents and kinks forming on surface.
So we only remove the errors which do not affect the surface.
Conclusion –
Thus we clear most of the errors and volume mesh the side mirror.
