Course Overview

Students will gain knowledge on product design wherein SolidWorks part modeling tool will be taught and students will work on developing an American Chopper Motorcycle.
This course is developed to teach how to make use of SolidWorks software for product design.
At the end of this course, the students will be fluent in both SOLIDWORKS as well as surface modeling tools.
This course will be a good opportunity for designers who are aiming to get into the concept generation phase of products.
After completion of this course, you will understand the basics of SOLIDWORKS covering part modeling, assembly modelings, photo-realistic renderings.

Course Syllabus

Week 01 - Introduction to SOLIDWORKS and Mastering SOLIDWORKS User Interface

You will be introduced to SOLIDWORKS and will learn how to customize the shortcuts.
You will learn the solid modeling techniques in SOLIDWORKS while modeling the transmission belt, kickstand, and fenders.
You will also learn how to add the appearance to the parts

Week 02 - Advanced Sketching and Solid Modeling

In this module, you will learn how to create advanced sketches using patterns such as sketch and curved driven patterns, projected, and composite curves.
You will also learn how to create complex shapes while modeling wheels, chassis, and engine.

In this project, you will learn how to create cut extrudes, revolve cuts, lofts, and circular patterns for modelling and build a complete road-ready Harley Davidson bike using SOLIDWORKS.

Modelling and Assembly of an American Predator Yacht

In this project, you will learn about curve generation, surface creation from curves and sketches, types of surfaces, and be able to sketch and build an entire American Predator Yacht using SolidWorks.
