Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone, popularly known as AMTZ is an enterprise under the Government of Andhra Pradesh dedicated for Medical Device Manufacturing. It has a dedicated medical device manufacturing park in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
AMTZ works with an objective to reduce the cost of manufacturing up to 40%, to simplify the end-to-end operations and also to reduce import dependency, which is presently around 75%.
AMTZ envisions to put India on the global map of high-end medical equipment production and make health care products affordable and accessible for the world. There are currently 94 biomedical companies with an established presence at AMTZ.

Association of Diagnostics Manufacturers of India (ADMI), The Indian IVD industry is a part of the growing Indian Biotech sector that is carving a niche for itself in the international arena. The main aim of the Association of Diagnostic Manufacturers of India is to provide a platform for the Indian IVD manufacturers so that they can voice their concerns and resolve issues. ADMI works to resolve difficulties faced by its members from time to time and initiates concerted actions for the welfare of its members and the Indian IVD industry.
AiMED
Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AiMeD) is an Umbrella Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices covering all types of Medical Devices including Consumables, Disposables, Equipments, Instruments, Electronics, Diagnostics and Implants. With a Primary Membership of over 300 Manufacturers and additionally of over 200 Associate Members representing the interest of over 1200 Manufacturers of Medical Devices to address the manufacturer’s problems.
IBSC
Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Association of Indian Medical Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AiMeD) and the Quality Council of India (QCI) have jointly established ‘Indian Biomedical Skill Council (IBSC)’ to provide certification system for Biomedical Engineers in the country.
IBSC aims at strengthening the Biomedical Skill Sector in the country and with this objective develop job roles and approved by National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and aligned with National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
KIHT
Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT) aims to facilitate focused research on critical components pertaining to medical devices by supporting institutions involved with R&D, industry, policy makers and knowledge repositories. This shall be achieved through transfer of technical knowledge and bringing strategic and coherent synergy of scientific facilities and institutions to compliment efforts on industrial promotion in the medical devices segment.
