In this project, you will be importing the geometry provided to you and clean up the geometry first. Then, you will be setting up the case by providing appropriate boundary conditions. To capture the key events that happens inside an engine i.e spraying of fuel, spark ignition, flame propagation, you will be modeling combustion, turbulence, spark and spray. You will also get an exposure to an extremely strong features of Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR), Fixed embedding as these will help you capture the flow physics accurately with optimized cell count. Finally, you will post process the results in PARAVIEW and look for all the key events that happens inside the engine cylinder.

In this project you will be calibrating a detailed compression ignition & spark ignition + explicit engine model by observing the effects of engine operating parameters on emissions and the conversion efficiencies of catalysts, such as TWC [Three Way Cat Conn] and DOC-DPF-SCR with urea injector, on different pollutants.
